Tamara is a "hired hand."
Your organization is responsible to obtain all copyright & other legal
permissions
pertaining to print, audio & live performance use of the song you are
requesting.
PRINT
MASTERS:
Tamara is NOT a publisher.
This is a "work for hire" situation where the charts you receive
are YOUR masters - for YOUR organization's use only. They belong to YOU
- not to Tamara. Tamara has control of original notation electronic file
formats, but DOES NOT RE-SELL THEM to ANYONE ELSE. No one outside your organization
will ever be given a copy of this project. The next person who requests
the same song will receive newly created files customized for their use
only, etc.
The word "repertoire"
refers to a LIST of songs with pre-existing electronic notation files. You
will NEVER receive a pre-existing file from the "catalog." Tamara
will customize & create NEW files for your use only. The "repertoire"
is designed to help you BUDGET. The flat $20 fee covers Tamara's expected
time of anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour to update & customize
the files for YOUR use.
All PRINT & MP3 usages
require proper authorization from the copyright holder(s) which may involve
extra fees to publishers (mechanical license, etc.). Most songs are covered
by your church's CCLI license for making copies. Please fully read my COPYRIGHT
POLICIES. Securing permission is the responsibility of YOUR organization.
Tamara does not use the charts. Tamara does not re-sell the charts. They
are YOURS.
MP3
COPIES:
An MP3 (or other audio copy)
is to be provided to Tamara for all song requests for transcription (may
not apply to most repertoire songs). Tamara will in turn supply rehearsal
MP3s (original artist in the left speaker with the individual background
vocal part sung in the right speaker) when specifically requested to do
so (via the online form). Some publishers do not yet acknowledge the use
of the Internet for transfering audio copies. It is YOUR responsibility
to get permission to use rehearsal MP3s for your team, whether they are
copies of Tamara's vocals or straight copies of the original artist recording
that you distribute to team members. Tamara charges for the time to record
& upload the vocal rehearsal MP3s to accompany your print music, but
the distribution & use of ANY audio recordings require that you obtain
permission from the copyright holders of the song (mechanical license).
Most publishers require a royalty fee of approximately 8¢ per copy.
Your organization must OWN at least one ORIGINAL recording (or legally obtained
out-of-print copy) of the song you are distributing. None of us are in the
business of robbing the artists who bring us the music!
FEES:
All fees are GUIDELINES to
help you budget. The most you will EVER be charged is the hourly rate of
$25. A "typical" song requires an average of approximately 3 hours
to complete from start to finish. However, please keep in mind that some
songs fall out of the "norm" & will take extra hours to accurately
chart out &/or customize to your specifically requested needs. In these
instances, there MIGHT be a call for hourly fees OVER the BASIC $75 (new
song) / $20 (pre-existing/catalog) fees. For "basic" requests,
there is a free extra hour included before added fees kick in. Tamara will
be sure to keep you informed during the charting process if things seem

RUSH
JOBS & SCHEDULING:
You are well advised to PLEASE
overstate your deadline. If you need the song in time to distribute next
Thursday, then make your deadline Monday, with an alternate deadline of
Wednesday. Tamara is just ONE person who often gets overwhelmed with a flurry
of simultaneous requests.
A "RUSH" fee will
be applied to all requests from the time of *submission
as follows:
catalog/under 48 hours - $5
- next day (or day after if an "after hours" submission)
catalog/under 24 hours - $10
- same day (or next day if a late submission)
new song/under 72 hours -
$5
new song/under 48 hours -
$10
*applies
only when Tamara is able to meet the requested deadline(s) & is waived
if unable to meet the urgency
CONTRACTUAL
AGREEMENT:
By hitting "submit"
to request a song you are hiring Tamara to do contractual work for your
organization. Once Tamara has put time into processing your request, it
could be considered a breech of contract to cancel, so please email Tamara
if you still have questions before you are ready to submit, & if a cancellation
becomes necessary, please notify immediately - there may be no charge for
time if cancellation occurs before Tamara puts hours into it.
There is an understanding that
all deadlines are guidelines - there is NO GUARANTEE that your work will
be completed by the time you have stipulated, though every human effort
will be made to meet either the original or the alternate deadline. Tamara
will keep you apprised if delays are inevitable.
